Crafting Woodwork That Feels Like Home

What started as a creative outlet during the pandemic has now turned into Broken Saw, where we craft handmade wooden products — furniture, kitchen items, toys, and more!

When we’re not in the workshop, we’re hanging out with our two pups, Finnegan (a rescue Aussie/Blue Heeler mix) and Cowboy (our mischievous Shiba Inu). We’re excited to share a little piece of our passion with you.

All of our items are crafted in one half of a garage -- apparently one side has to be kept clear of woodworking equipment so you can keep something called a "car" in there. Weird, we know.

Every item we sell starts off as rough cut wood purchased from local resellers in the Hudson Valley. We mill it down to the size needed, glue it up, and then craft our products based on the orders we receive. For that reason, each item is truly unique -- from the grain pattern of the wood to minor differences that tooling can make from item to item. Truly, no two pieces are ever alike.

Items that will come in contact with food have been finished with a simple salve of mineral oil and beeswax to keep them hydrated and looking fresh. When necessary, a quick reapplication of that salve will revive your well-used item. For products that will not come in contact with food, we use a finish that we create ourselves that protects your new item, but still allows you to feel the texture of the wood in your hands. After all, what's the point of having a real wood piece of furniture if all you feel is a layer of chemicals?

We're confident that you'll love the item you purchase from us; we've poured our love and care into it, and we won't send it to its new home unless we'd put it in ours -- and we're picky AF. On the off chance that you do have a problem, please reach out to us and let us know ASAP! We'll do everything in our power to make it right for you. Our customers are the most important thing to our business, and we strive to keep all of our customers coming back for more.
